Can peer communities reduce election official burnout?

Can online peer communities of local election officials (LEOs) enhance local election authorities’ institutional capacity and reduce burnout amidst the “great resignation”?

Working with Justin de Benedictis-Kessner and Jose Altamirano (Harvard Kennedy School), we’ve set out to answer that question through a multi-month study via the MIT Election Data + Science Lab “Learning from Elections” project.

Check out a recent interview with Austin and Jose about how our work is helping clarify the value of peer communities in building capacity, reducing burnout, and improving performance.
